Sudden Strange Realisation

One of the things that I just realised I really loved about Gimli & Leggy is . . . the similarities in childhoods that we forget about. Like, they're both noble and so forth, neither of them were in poverty, but both Erebor (and, pre-Baggins, Ered Luin) and the Mirkwood were. Uh. In states of fuckery.

I mean, yeah, that's all of Middle Earth to some extent, but . . . straying a bit into headcanon here, I feel like they're both the sort to very much take that onto and into themselves. Responsible types.

Might be a bit weird to have sappy headcanons about them bonding over 'lol remember being younger and how it was basically just being under attack all the time and also super sucked' but. I do now, I guess.
